ISS Data Center

Digital Twin

The brief was to create a digital twin of the International Space Station in VR that displays data panels linking to data sets using JSON.

I took this brief and saw opportunities for different possible use cases to expand the practicalities of this space, exploring ideas that centred around empathy, human connection and education.

The inclusion of realistic human avatars to turn this space into a collaboration space with experts complimenting embodied AIs.

Users of this scenario: Leadership and project teams

Educational institutions, museums.

Representation Through Education

Creating a space for family connection for families of astronauts who feel so far away, bringing families closer together.

Floor Plan

Starting with a basic floor plan to get a sense of the space I am working with, while continuing with a bit of ideation. In this instance, having images of astronauts who are currently on the ISS accompanied by data like health stats.

Building in Unity

Beginning with basic assets, I then brought in the data panels, experimenting with how to present them visually.
